Pianist Peter Longworth is a well-known and acclaimed solo performer, chamber musician, and teacher in Canada and abroad. From his base in Toronto, Mr. Longworth has performed in New York, Chicago, London, Montreal, Nice and other cities in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has been soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic, the World Youth Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras across Canada.

Mr. Longworth is a founding member of the Duke Trio, which has performed in New York and Chicago as well as throughout Canada. A faculty member of the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, he also maintains a private studio. Having given classes throughout North America, he is in demand as a chamber coach and an adjudicator at competitions and festivals.

Mr. Longworth will perform the “2 Rhapsodies Op. 79” by Brahms. These are compact pieces that balance power and poetry perfectly. Schumann’s "Humoresque” may be one of the most difficult of Schumann’s piano works. This is a large-scale work without conscious formalism, musical thoughts streaming without inhibition. Beethoven's Sonata in F- Op 59 "The Appassionata” is considered by many to be one of Beethoven's three great piano sonatas, rendering the richness of nature’s forces and the immense power of man who manages to overcome it. Canadian composer Chris Harman’s “After Schumann” is based on Schumann’s "Album From the Young" it integrates music from the past and present. Harman uses his limitless imagination to create pieces with unusual forms. His compositions contain rich sonorities with subtle colours that musicians enjoy playing.

Reception following to meet the artists.
